BELLEVUE, WA — Employee engagement company Limeade is known for its refreshing approach to driving productivity, well-being and health at work. As the $2.4 trillion US health care industry reforms itself and as US employers face increasingly remote, disengaged and unhealthy workforces, the need for innovative, social technologies to improve job performance, health, and well-being is higher than ever. For the past seven years, Limeade has been driving behavior change in the workplace using what CEO Henry Albrecht calls “the applied science of well-being.” The 70-person company delivers social challenges, culture-building activities, and behavior change solutions to firms ranging from 1,000 to over 100,000 employees. The company also manages incentives for employers, rewarding employees for decisions that improve health and job performance. Widespread adoption of social and mobile technology and the Affordable Care Act have spurred many of the nation’s established health care behemoths — and a whole flock of well-funded newcomers — to chase the same opportunity. Through changing economic and regulatory environments, and in the face of intense competition, Limeade is winning by staying true to its mission: “Measurably improve well-being in the world via happy, healthy, high-performance workforces.” In 2013, Limeade has achieved several key milestones:
  • Added its 100th enterprise customer
  • Added its first 100,000+ employee customer
  • Continued its 100%+ growth rate, joining the exclusive “8-figure run rate on 7-figure fundraise” club
  • Won Top 5 status on Washington’s Best Companies to Work For list
  • Improved employee engagement metrics for every client that migrated from a competitive solution
  • Installed a replacement indoor mini-hoop (dunk contest incident)

In 2014, Limeade expects to cross the 100-employee mark and continue to grow. It is aggressively hiring nice people (which it calls LimeMates) in product development, design, marketing and account management positions, reflecting a relentless focus on happy enterprise clients, engaged employees and lower health care costs. “We have continued to innovate through chaotic and challenging times. We’ve never wavered from our values, and we are just starting to sense how big, fun and meaningful this ride can be — for LimeMates and our customers,” said CEO Henry Albrecht. About Limeade Limeade is an enterprise engagement platform that focuses on performance, wellness and incentives to build happy, healthy, high-performance workforces.
