PROBLEM

In 2012, UnityPoint Health, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in America, acquired several regional hospitals. Suddenly, the organization doubled in size to more than 30,000 employees. It was a watershed moment for UnityPoint, and they needed not only a single HR system, but a unifying, branded wellness initiative to improve health and well-being.

SOLUTION

Limeade and UnityPoint developed OnPoint for Health to unify a growing population…and more. With an eye on corporate values and a respect for the unique subcultures of affiliate locations, OnPoint for Health delivered targeted challenges to inspire positive habits and improved well-being. They also emphasized the program in onboarding for new recruits as well as newly acquired employees, delivering an immediate sense of caring from their employer.

To optimize usage of existing benefits and programs, UnityPoint leveraged the Limeade platform to reward employees for switching to the hospital’s electronic patient records portal, – a critical company initiative. Participation increased by 194%, leading to an increase in overall patient utilization.

RESULTS
