Our June “Make Others Great Award” goes to…

The “Make Others Great” award recognizes LimeMates who go above and beyond to help others do their best work through collaboration and teamwork. Each month, a nomination committee reviews submissions from fellow LimeMates and selects the winner.

This month, the BIG shoe goes to Sales Assistant Tenessa Whipple. Kudos to Tenessa for always striving to Make Others Great!

Read along to learn more about this rockstar LimeMate.

What’s your role at Limeade, and what do you do?

I’m a sales assistant, which means I do anything and everything to support our sales organization — helping with events, analyzing data and helping our inside sales and sales teams succeed.

How long have you been at Limeade?

I’ve been here since the end of March 2015.

What brought you here?

The culture.

What do you like most about your job?

I like that I work with numerous departments because I like helping people succeed. I love that I contribute to different projects across the company while growing my own skills at the same time.

What does a day in the life look like?

Every day is different. Some days I work on sales meeting materials for our outside sales reps, and other days I work closely with our events manager to plan upcoming regional events and tradeshows. It’s always fun, and I’m always learning.

Who’s your role model?

Oh my goodness, I have so many! I’ve been so fortunate in my career to work with some AMAZING women. From my previous company: Julie Beck, Kathy Bexley, Maureen Walshin and Elizabeth Pheasant. And at Limeade: Sharon Gillespie and Jes Spindel. These women are strong and intelligent, and they’re people who I aspire to be.

What’s one thing not many people know about you?

I just found out I’m allergic to eggs and coffee! Breakfast is my favorite meal, so it’s been a hard adjustment. No coffee is tough (take my word on it)!

What’s your favorite thing about working at Limeade?

I love that Limeade is growing and changing so quickly. It makes for a great environment to collaborate with others and keep improving. The people here are amazing!

Where would you take a career-cation?

I would love to visit Iceland to see the Northern Lights and go in the Blue Lagoon!

How do you destress?

I destress by running and hiking. I also destress by organizing and cleaning. It helps clear my brain and allow me to refresh.

What’s your favorite Limeade memory?

I’ve only been here a little over two months, but I already have so many. I loved going to the all-company Mariners game. And International Fun at Work Day because we had so many different team challenges around the office.

What’s your favorite Limeade value, and how do you live it?

Speak Plainly. To all work together and make something as special as Limeade, we need to learn to speak plainly to each other and to our customers. I live this by being transparent and direct with others — we’re more productive when we are.
