1. McDonald’s Leadership Shakeup
News cycles stirred that the CEO of McDonald’s was fired due to him having an against policy relationship with an employee — and a couple of days later, McDonald’s CHRO announced via a companywide memo that he would be leaving the company.
2. Fridays Off Forever!
In an experiment to boost work-life balance in Microsoft’s Japan offices, employees were given Fridays off for the summer. This resulted in a 40% increase in productivity.
3. London Traders Want Shorter Hours
The desire for well-being seems to be spreading. European traders have called for the London Stock Exchange and other European trading floors to shorten market hours to “improve culture, diversity and well-being.” Historically, European trading hours have stretched to overlap Asia and U.S. markets.
