An internal nomination committee reviews submissions from fellow LimeMates and selects the winners.
The Delight Customers award goes to Strategic Account Executive Gary Gustafson.
Gary inspires excellence in all of us at Limeade — whether it’s hearing about how he pushed through during the late night hours of his 100 mile race or watching him go above and beyond to make sure our customers have an amazing launch experience.
We sat down with Gary to learn more about him – here’s what we learned.
What’s your role at Limeade, and what do you do?
I’m a strategic account executive. I work with customers throughout their program’s implementation and beyond. I guide, support, develop and execute their annual strategic account plans that clearly define key goals and deliverables.
What do you like most about your job?

What brought you here?
I wanted to do more with my life than just earn a paycheck. I wanted a mission to do some good in the world.
What does a day in your life look like?
Most of my job requires constant communication. I’m either working on a deliverable for a customer, prepping for a call, working with my internal team, supporting the sales team, traveling to visit a customer or brainstorming ways to solve an issue.
Who’s your role model?
My father. He was kind, patient and spent his life in the service of others. There was no act of service he wouldn’t do for someone in need.
What’s one thing not many people know about you?
When I was 19, I spent two years in Japan on a mission for my church.
What’s your favorite Limeade memory?
A conversation I had with Henry (Limeade CEO) when he asked, “Gary, are you having fun? If it isn’t fun, then that’s a problem.” Henry’s words stuck with me as an important motivator and reminder. I need to make a positive difference in the world and have fun doing it.
What’s your favorite Limeade value, and how do you live it?
Own it! I try to take responsibility for my own behavior and actions. I try to treat people with respect regardless of how they treat me.
What was your first job?
I sold Spudnuts (potato donuts) door to door. I also sold wrapping paper and Christmas cards and delivered shoe repair flyers.
What are you working to improve?
I’m trying to be a more positive person and eliminate negativity from my life. I’m also working on showing more gratitude to those around me.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Kind, hard-working people-person.
How do you start and end your day?
I start and end my day with prayer.
If you could keep only five possessions, what would they be?
My running shoes, my running shorts, my scriptures, my house and a picture of my family.
How do you “delight customers?”
I try to put myself in their shoes and ask, “If I were the customer, what would I want.”
