Featured Songs From the Limeade Playlist

To kick off the inaugural Limeade Playlist experience, we’ve written a few of our own “music reviews” to guide your exploration of the songs and artists on the playlist — and to show you why we think they amplify care.

Feel It All Around
By Washed Out
This song gained mainstream attention as the opening theme for the popular sketch comedy show, Portlandia, but “Feel It All Around” single-handedly ushered in the arrival of a new era of synth-pop known as chillwave. This instant classic features Washed Out’s distinct brand of distorted, ambient beats interwoven with hypnotic, faded vocals that puts listeners in a state of euphoric pleasure.

Life Of Leisure 3 - The Limeade Playlist: A Refreshing Soundtrack for Spring
Mexican Summer, 2009

Get to Know You
By Tomo Nakayama
While many musicians have spent the pandemic unplugged and stripping music to the bare essentials, Tomo Nakayama’s sound has gotten bigger and brighter. After amassing a catalog of ethereal acoustic folk and rock tunes, the Seattle singer-songwriter put on his dancing shoes and released Melonday, an electro-pop odyssey into “finding love and meaningful connection in the modern world.” The album’s opening track, “Get to Know You,” thrusts listeners into an art-disco frenzy that’s suitable for a socially distanced dance party or a workday groove.

Do It
By Chloe x Halle
Mentored by Queen Bey herself, this talented sister act was literally handed the torch to light up dancefloors with fun and energetic bangers that bring the nostalgic feeling of late ‘90s R&B hits to modern hip hop. “Do It” will motivate you go get it done at work, at the gym or anywhere in between.

Ungodly HOur 7 1 - The Limeade Playlist: A Refreshing Soundtrack for Spring
Parkwood/Columbia, 2020

Hasta la Raíz
By Natalia Lafourcade
After more than a decade of releasing award-winning hits that cemented her status as one of Latin America’s premier musicians, Natalia Lafourcade experienced a bout of writer’s block. In search of inspiration, the Mexican pop-rock and folk artist visited places that gave her life purpose, including her home state of Veracruz, Mexico. The result? Her most acclaimed album to date: Hasta la Raíz (translates to “Down to the Root”). Just as the album’s title track helped Lafourcade find strength and pride in her Mexican roots, this lovely tune may inspire you to reconnect with yourself and your loved ones.

Sony/RCA, 2015

Lovely Day
By Bill Withers
As a quintessential feel-good hit, “Lovely Day” has an ease that’s impossible to resist. With an earthy orchestral sound reminiscent of a peering into the heart of a cascading floral arrangement on the sunniest of days, this timeless pop tune will give you the warm and fuzzies every time it plays.

Menagerie 1 - The Limeade Playlist: A Refreshing Soundtrack for Spring
Columbia, 1977

By Phoebe Bridgers
This experimentally upbeat track finds the Los Angeles indie rocker aimlessly wandering around Kyoto, Japan during a day off between tour dates. In detailing her exploration of Japanese culture by visiting temples, riding speed trains and making payphone calls (“they still have payphones”), Bridgers reminds us that it’s important to take time away from work to discover the beauty around you – whether you’re at home or on the road.

Punisher 1 - The Limeade Playlist: A Refreshing Soundtrack for Spring
Dead Oceans, 2020

The Bones
By Maren Morris
The past year and change has been an emotional roller-coaster for many of us. Amid the unexpected twists and turns of the pandemic, our steadfast resiliency hasn’t only kept us moving forward, it’s made us stronger. In her song “The Bones,” country singer-songwriter Maren Morris assures us that our ability to persevere will get us through the homestretch — and that high times are ahead.

GIRL 1 - The Limeade Playlist: A Refreshing Soundtrack for Spring
Columbia Nashville, 2019

Treat People With Kindness
By Harry Styles
While the pandemic has left us feeling more isolated than ever, Harry Styles shows us that treating people with kindness during this difficult time isn’t only cool, but necessary for us to move forward. This catchy pop sing-along embodies the essence of our science of care research supporting the prioritization of whole-person well-being to help employees feel good.
