Boost your benefits team’s productivity by 2.3x
By: Markus Von Aschoff

Forrester finds that with Limeade a team of three do as much as a team of seven, saving $727,000
Doing more with less has become the mantra of the last couple of years. And today, we face an even accelerated speed of transformation based on fear of recession, war and other macro-economic events. Health and Benefit teams have always been stretched thin regarding resources. However, while employee well-being has become a top priority at most organizations and the results of holistic well-being programs are impactful, budgets and headcount continue to shrink.
The only way for Health and Benefits teams to solve this challenge is to find solutions that increase team productivity and reduce administrative burden so they can instead focus on their program’s strategic value. Forrester recently published The Total Economic Impact Of Limeade study where they interviewed four Limeade customers about the results of their health and well-being programs.
Below are three significant findings that came from the study which show how those organizations were able to increase their team’s productivity by 2.3x and save $727,000.
Reach more employees with targeted and relevant communications
Most wellness and well-being programs and tools are optimized to provide a preconfigured employee experience or journey. However, there have been massive technological investments to help employees more easily find their benefits and to also reduce employee turnover. Health and Benefits teams waste an exorbitant amount of time and effort just trying to communicate effectively with their employees.
Forrester found that efficiencies for benefits administrators and stakeholders like Well-Being Champions are key to improving productivity.
“There are employee efficiencies in program administration for both benefits administrators as well as the wellness champions spread throughout the organization. We have been able to reduce time spent but increase effectiveness. The result is that we avoid hiring to support our total volume of employees.”

All four interviewed Limeade customers use targeted and relevant communications, along with strategically designed programs and effective campaigns to reach their employees efficiently.
Launch 20x more activities and campaigns with less effort
Keeping well-being programs fresh and exciting is key to convincing employees to come back and participate. A ‘one size fits all’ program no longer has sustained impact. Instead, relevancy to specific employee needs is the key to well-being program utilization. The more customized a program is, the higher the participation rate.
“We have been able to maintain the same number of FTEs dedicated to wellness administration and lessen the burden on champions while simultaneously delivering on at least 240 activities a year, whereas before they could only do 10 to 15 activities annually”

Forrester found that all four customers can create a more relevant and refreshing experience with more variability using Limeade.
Infuse well-being into work to build sustained healthy habits
Forcing employees to visit a web-portal designed for a stationary desktop no longer works. Employees want the convenience of doing something for their well-being anytime and anywhere. A mobile-first experience is key to delivering on that requirement.
“Over time as an organization —and in my personal education as well as my involvement in Wellness Council of America and other organizations that address employee well-being — we knew we wanted to get somewhere holistic and digital [with our wellness program]. As more and more people are working from their phones and are less likely to be tied to a computer, we strived to make something [with Limeade] that could be accessible anywhere.”

Forrester found that once employees participated more often in activities or challenges, they saw impactful changes.
“There are people who will share as a result of participating in this challenge that they’ve changed a health behavior that they wouldn’t have been able to change without the tools and resources we provided to them from [Limeade].”

Forrester proves that the Limeade strategy of infusing well-being in a mobile-first format is paying off. The good news for health and well-being teams is that Limeade boosts program impact even more by infusing well-being into work tools like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Viva. With fundamentally less effort, health and well-being teams can nudge employees within more work tools and create healthier behaviors.
