1. Big tech still faces big diversity gap
Google, Apple, Amazon and Facebook remain overwhelmingly white and male. An article in Fast Company shows tech’s diversity problem in visuals.
2. WeWork headed for magenta?
News broke this week that the CEO of T-Mobile may be in talks to take on the role of CEO at WeWork. Known for turning companies around and shaking things up, this could be a potential comeback for the spiraled out co-working company.
3. Facebook accusations
After a Medium post went up detailing several racist incidents within the company, accusations swirled that Facebook empowers a racist company culture.
4. Microsoft diversity report
Microsoft reports incremental progress on diversity releasing new ‘Inclusion Index’ sentiment analysis.
5. What employers often forget during a layoff
Dr. Laura Hamill, Chief People Officer and Chief Science Officer at Limeade was quoted in an article in HR Executive about how to treat employees with care even during a layoff.
6. McDonald’s Lawsuit
On Tuesday, a class action lawsuit was filed against McDonald’s accusing the company of lacking policies to address sexual harassment, failing to train managers to prevent it and retaliating against workers who complain.
7. Political debates at work on the rise
According to a recent survey 42% of U.S. employees say they have personally experienced, and 44% say they have witnessed, political disagreements at work. Roughly 34% of respondents said that their workplace is not inclusive of differing political perspectives, and 12% said they have personally experienced political affiliation bias.
8. Limeade moves to the cloud
Limeade was featured in Built in Seattle discussing our recent move to the cloud, including the factors that led up to the shift and the results we’ve since seen.
