Life brings both challenges and joy, but it’s what you choose to do that defines your future. This is true in both work and life. Pursuing your own journey of transformation, to wake up to the fullness of your life, embrace each moment as a gift and celebrate the joy of life — according to John O’Leary, it’s your choice. And he shares his life lessons as an invitation for you to choose.
Who is John O’Leary?
In 1987, John O’Leary was a curious nine-year-old boy. Playing with fire and gasoline, he created a massive explosion in his home and was burned on 100 percent of his body with 87 percent third degree burns. He was given only one percent chance to live.
Now, as a powerhouse motivational speaker, O’Leary inspires thousands of individuals to lead a fuller, meaningful life filled with hope and possibility. Through his inspirational leadership, he also teaches businesses key strategies to succeed in any environment. His epic story of survival is showcased in his book, “ON FIRE: The 7 Choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life.” His emotional story will also be told at Limeade Engage 2019 as one of our keynote speakers.
Here are three reasons why we love John O’Leary:
1. John O’Leary is committed to living life to the fullest and inspiring others to do the same.
With the help of his family, medical staff and even complete strangers, O’Leary survived the unimaginable — and now he wants to share his incredible story and life lessons with the hope to inspire others. O’Leary’s infectious spirit sparks a fire in others to overcome challenges and celebrate the possibility of tomorrow.
2. John O’Leary is a changemaker.
He lives boldly, true to his core and authentic self — and encourages others to do the same. O’Leary spreads the message that, “you can’t always choose the path you walk in life, but you can always choose the manner in which you walk it.” He encourages personal and professional choices surrounding adversity, decision-making processes, vision and how the way you live can impact others.
3. John O’Leary focuses on the possibilities.
As O’Leary says, “Just because you’re out of bed doesn’t mean you’re fully awake. Just because you’re at work doesn’t mean you’re fully productive and just because you’re in a relationship doesn’t mean you’re fully alive in it.” Whether you’re struggling at work or at home, O’Leary helps you focus on the present and to fully live your life ahead.
