According to the Business Group on Health, 65% view health and wellbeing as an integral role in their workforce strategy, up from 27% five years ago. But who are the visionaries of this field, what are their motivations, their tips, and their hopes for the future?

Jennifer Spence

First VP and Director of National Health & Productivity, Alliant

Jennifer Spence thrives on the challenge and creativity that comes with building sustainable health and well-being strategies; keeping the individual experience in mind and building a positive workplace culture. This legend’s well-being career spans 27 years and she now defines Alliant’s National Health & Productivity strategy to support scalable, mid-market best practices.

Fun fact about Jennifer: She’s earned all four of Alliant’s Leadership Awards in the areas of Commitment, Partnership, Innovation and Leadership. In 2022 she was awarded the Empowering People award, which demonstrates her passion for helping others achieve exceptional results and live their healthiest lives.

Kyle Rolfing

Partner, Lemhi Ventures, Serial Healthcare Entrepreneur and CEO and Founder, RedBrick Health

Kyle Rolfing is currently a partner at Lehmi Ventures with an extensive background in consumer-driven health and multiple years of advising and board work. Kyle is a true entrepreneur in the healthcare industry — his experience speaks for itself as the co-founder and president of Bright Health, Principal at Savvysherpa, co-founder and CEO of Redbrick Health and co-founder, president and CEO of Definity Health.

Fun fact about Kyle: his team at Definity introduced HRAs to the market and worked closely with the U.S. Treasury in creating the first-generation HSAs.

Wendy Lynch

Founder, Lynch Consulting

As a research scientist working in the business world, Dr. Wendy Lynch has over 35 years of experience converting complex analytics into market success. This legend has been a consultant numerous Fortune 100 companies and authored a new book and online course: Become an Analytic Translator.

Fun fact about Dr. Lynch: she was awarded the Bill Whitmer Leadership Award for her sustained contributions to the field of corporate health in 2022.

Dr. Michael Parkinson

Principal, P3 Health and Past President, American College of Preventive Medicine

Dr. Michael Parkinson focuses on maximizing population health through prevention and healthcare transformation as Principal of P3 Health. He most recently was Senior Medical Director for UPMC Health Plan and Workpartners. He has had prior leadership roles at Lumenos/Anthem as a pioneer of consumer-directed health care and during his career in the US Air Force culminating in the Office of the Surgeon General. This legend’s impressive medical career makes him an expert in improving health, reducing excessive medical costs and optimizing business competitiveness. He serves on the (DoD) Defense Health Board, the University of Iowa NIOSH Midwest Center for Workforce Excellence Advisory Board and the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

Fun Fact about Dr. Parkinson: He was a member of the Institute of Medicine Committee evaluating NASA employee health programs which became the model for NIOSH Total Worker Health.
