Daniel Pink, Lisa Bodell and Josh Bersin on timing, complexity and productivity at work

On April 17th and 18th at Limeade Engage in Savannah, GA, keynote speakers Daniel Pink, Lisa Bodell and Josh Bersin tackled the concepts of timing, complexity, well-being, engagement and productivity at work — and left the audience with new tools and insights to transform their workplace.

Daniel Pink is the author of six provocative books about the changing world of work, including his latest, “WHEN: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing,” which has already spent three months on the New York Times bestseller list.

At Limeade Engage, Pink shared show-stopping research that made the audience reevaluate how they prioritize their time. His practical takeaways gave attendees compelling insights into how we can live richer, more engaged lives.

Pink revealed that people move through the day in three stages: a peak, a trough and a recovery. Each stage should be reserved for different types of work and rest.

We perform differently on analytical tasks versus insight tasks depending on the time of day. The same goes for making an impression versus making a decision.

The reality is, we often don’t do the right tasks at the right time. It’s time to work smarter.

“Especially in HR, what we really need to do is act like scientists.” – Daniel Pink at Limeade Engage 2018

Founder and CEO of futurethink, Lisa Bodell is the best-selling author of “Kill the Company,” and her latest “Why Simple Wins.” She is a recognized global leader on innovation foresight and change management, whose keynotes leave audiences inspired with a vision and armed with tools toward action.

Lisa_BodellLisa Bodell captured the audience at Limeade Engage with her insights on how complexity is killing organizations with her research on how most employees actually spend their day and what employers can do to change the game.

Bodell shared that in the average organization, employees spend:

  • 45 percent in meetings
  • 23 percent emailing
  • 18 percent doing unproductive work
  • 14 percent doing ‘real’ work

“If we get the work right, we get the culture right.” – Lisa Bodell at Limeade Engage 2018

Josh_BersinOur last keynote speaker, Josh Bersin, impressed the audience with a new look at engagement, well-being and productivity. Josh Bersin, co-founder and a Principal at Deloitte Consulting, LLP, provides research and advisory services focused on corporate learning, leadership, talent management and HR technology.

Bersin took the conversation a step further by digging into the power of meaningful work, organizational support and how it’s crucial to put your people first. He also highlighted the importance of employee well-being.

Bersin predicts employee well-being will be elevated beyond benefits to the CHRO — it’s all about productivity, which impacts the bottom line.

“Individuals in your company have more power now than they ever have before. If you don’t take care of your people they won’t take care of you.” – Josh Bersin at Limeade Engage 2018
